LSR is currently working on redesigning all of the fund’s main applications, and the first two have now been launched:
The application process is designed to simplify the process for applicants as much as possible. For example, the application system assesses which options are relevant for each applicant and displays only those options that apply in each case. As an example, options relating to Division B are not shown in a survivor’s pension application if the deceased held rights only in Division A.
Applicants are guided through the application in a few simple steps, with instructions provided for each step on the relevant page. Finally, the application is signed electronically.
Another new feature is that the applications are available in both Icelandic and English.
The new applications do not only make life easier for members, as all data is submitted directly into the fund’s systems. This significantly reduces manual processing and the risk of errors when transferring information between systems. As a result, processing time for each application is reduced and costs are lowered.
Work on renewing applications will continue in the coming months, and new applications will be introduced gradually.
