LSR Investment Policies 2026

The Board of LSR has approved the fund’s investment policies for Division A, Division B and the Private Pension divisions. The policies apply for the year 2026.
Opening Hours During Christmas 2025 and New Year
18. December 2025
The LSR office and phone service will be closed on public holidays during Christmas and New Year. On the first working day after the holidays, the fund’s services will start at 10:00 AM, one hour later than usual.
Payslips published only on My Pages and Ísland.is
16. December 2025
As of the end of next month, LSR will publish payslips exclusively on Ísland.is and My Pages. The publication of payslips through online banking platforms will be discontinued.

LSR has redesigned two types of applications on My Pages: the application for the payment of Private Pension savings and the application for a spouse’s pension.

The Icelandic pension system receives top marks

For the fifth year in a row, the Icelandic pension system has received top marks in an international analysis covering 52 countries. The Icelandic system earned the second-highest score of all the nations included in the study.
LSR among those financing the construction of the Ölfusá Bridge

LSR is one of four parties that have signed an agreement with ÞG Verk to provide project financing for the construction of the new Ölfusá Bridge. The other participants in the project are Íslandsbanki, Birta Pension Fund, and the Pension Fund of Commerce.

Reception and phone service will be closed on Friday, October 24, due to the Women’s Strike. LSR wholeheartedly supports women and non-binary people and encourages everyone to contribute to advancing equality in society and to stand united against discrimination.
Only fixed-rate loans processed
17. October 2025
Due to a Supreme Court ruling in case no. 55/2024, LSR will for the time being only accept applications for loans with fixed interest rates for the entire loan period. However, LSR will complete the processing of all loan applications that are already being handled by the fund.
LSR receives the Jafnvægisvogin Recognition
10. October 2025
LSR has received the Jafnvægisvogin Recognition for 2025, which was presented at a formal ceremony at the University of Iceland on October 9. This marks the sixth time that LSR has received the recognition.
