Changed opening hours on 4 and 7 September

Due to an upgrade of LSR’s information systems from 4–7 September, the Fund will have reduced opening hours on Friday 4 September and Monday 7 September. Some disruption to LSR’s online services can also be expected over the weekend.
Mortgage interest rates lowered

The interest rate on new LSR mortgages will decrease from 4.5% to 4.4% as of Thursday, 27 August 2026. The loans are inflation-indexed with a fixed interest rate for the entire loan term.

Mortgage Repayments with Private Pension Savings Made Permanent

LSR Annual Report 2025 published

LSR’s Annual Report for 2025 has been published. It covers the fund’s operations over the past year, assets at year-end and much more. The fund has also published its Sustainability Report for the year.
LSR Annual Meeting to Be Held on May 5

The LSR annual meeting will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5. The meeting will take place in the VOX Club conference room at Hilton Reykjavík Nordica and will be open to all fund members and employers.
Nearly ISK 100 billion increase in LSR’s assets in 2025

The net assets of the Pension Fund for State Employees were just under ISK 1,664 billion at year-end 2025, an increase of just over ISK 97 billion year-on-year. LSR’s nominal return, as the country’s largest pension fund by assets, was 6.6% in 2025 and the net real return was 2.7%. The fund’s real return has averaged 3.8% over the past 10 years.

New Pension Applications Launched

LSR has now launched a new version of its pension applications, which is much simpler for fund members than the previous application process, while also making processing easier for staff.
